Mrs Julia Bonner-Douett
Director, Standards Division, Bureau of Standards Jamaica

Mrs. Douett is the Director of the Standards Division at the Bureau of Standards Jamaica. She holds a first degree, double major in Physics and Chemistry and a Master’s in Business Administration. A Project Management Professional, Mrs. Douett is also Quality Systems Auditor and Trainer of Trainer and Coach.

She has over twenty years’ tutelage at the tertiary level and over twelve years’ experience in honing the skills and competences that guide the work of standardization at the BSJ. This has resulted in programmes such as BSJ Client Servicing Programme, the BSJ Business Partnership Programme, BSJ/DBJ VTA Programme and the Quality Jamaica project, which established the NCBJ; and at the BSJ the establishment of the Regional and International Trade Office.

Mrs. Douett is also the first person in the English-speaking Caribbean to be appointed to the international 15-member Technical Management Board of the International Organization for Standardization ISO, 2018 2020. She locally collaborates at the Board level of secondary and tertiary educational institutions and works on various National Committees, including the National Building Practitioner Board.
