Ms. Gail Barrett has been acting in the capacity of Vice President of Investment and Linkages Division at JAMPRO since November 2023. Her substantive role is manager of the Investment Facilitation Department, previously called the Project Implementation Department, where she has served since November 2014. In both capacities, she liaises with Government and stakeholders to support the implementation of investment projects and has responsibility for project implementation and after care services. These services are provided for clients investing in Jamaica's core investment sectors to ensure a seamless implementation of investment projects. With support from her team, she plays a crucial role in overseeing the packaging of new business opportunities available to investors and driving investment initiatives across various sectors, including Agribusiness, Tourism, Manufacturing, Mining and Global Digital Services. Previous to this role, Ms. Barrett worked as a Administrative Manager at Jamaica Vacation Division in the Ministry of Tourism and she has worked in the hotel and cruise Industry in Miami for over 10 years. Ms. Barrett holds a master’s degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the University of West Indies, and is a certified in Project Management, Accountant Financing and CRM Salesforce. She frequently attends high level meetings and investment focused events where she shares her insights on investment trends and best practices for our focus sectors. She also currently sits on the technical review committee for the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA). She teaches herself Spanish and outside of her professional endeavours, Gail enjoys travelling and exploring new investment landscapes.
